registered agreement

A registered agreement is a document that has been approved by the Fair Work Commission and sets out minimum employment conditions for a specific business or group of businesses. When it’s made, the agreement is agreed to by the majority of the employees affected (eg. by a vote). A registered agreement can still apply to an employee even if they weren’t there when it was made or voted on. Agreements apply until they have been terminated by the Fair Work Commission or replaced.

Examples of registered agreements include enterprise agreements and greenfields agreements. Previously these were called collective agreements, Australian workplace agreements (AWAs) or Individual Transitional Employment Agreements (ITEAs).
